Sofia is originally from Des Moines, Iowa, now a Keosauqua native. After moving there six years ago, she discovered High Temperature Dance Academy and Tympest and quickly fell in with the supportive environment and passion for dance that filled the studio.

Sofia recently graduated from Iowa Central Community College with both an Associate of Arts degree and an Associate of Science degree, with an emphasis in Kinesiology and Exercise Science. As a member of Iowa Central’s collegiate dance team, she helped earn multiple state titles, became a 2x NDA National Runner-Up, and was recognized as a 2x NDA All-American, one of the highest honors awarded by the National Dance Alliance.

A dancer since the age of 4 and a competitor since age 6, Sofia has trained in jazz, ballet, pom, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, and tap. As an HTDA alum, she is thrilled to now share her love for dance with the next generation of dancers, helping them grow both technically and artistically.

Outside of the studio, Sofia is pursuing a nursing degree at Indian Hills Community College and enjoys spending time with friends and family, walking her puppy, and, of course, studying hard for her future career in healthcare.
